2022 Nissan Frontier vs 2021 Nissan Frontier
Serving Farmington Hills, MI
Are you debating between buying a 2021 Nissan Frontier or the latest 2022 version? The Frontier is a midsize model that has been a strong contender among truck shoppers in the Farmington Hills area for decades. Going into 2022, it introduces its third generation. The next-generation version shows off bumper-to-bumper updates. After getting familiar with the differences between the 2021 and 2022 versions of the Frontier, which one will you select?
Performance
Throughout the full trim lineup, the 2021 Nissan Frontier has one engine option. This is a 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower. It is paired with a nine-speed auto transmission and rear-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive is optional in select trim levels for 2021. While the 2022 Frontier introduces bold updates throughout, these updates do not impact performance features and capabilities.
Appearance
The 2021 Frontier is part of a generation that debuted in 2005, so you may be familiar with its style. It shows off a tall roofline with a smooth, angled hood and a V-motion grille design—the large headlights angle down the sides of the grille for an integrated look. For 2022, the grille is rectangular, and this design carries through to the elongated headlights. The rectangular headlights have LED bars on both the top and bottom for definition. The 2022 Frontier also has a front skid plate, linear definition on the side doors, and molded squared-off fenders and wheel wells.
Features
Inside, the cabin has been completely redesigned in the 2022 Frontier. The cabin has a roomier feel, and the larger touch display screen creates a modern look. For both model years, lower trim levels have USB ports, Bluetooth tech, an AC system, cruise control, a push-button ignition, a sound system, and more. Both model years add a premium sound system, leather material, a navigation system, a sunroof, and other high-level features in the top trims.
